Mirror Seating Chart

Christine, on January 22, 2015 at 10:33 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 24

Has anyone done this? I've been looking at pics and I think it's so pretty, but I'm wondering how time intensive or pricey it could get. Thanks!

Very creative. The first one is hard to read though.

Agreed FutureMrsDean! I'd definitely go with white so it can be read. I actually found an Etsy shop that'll buy the mirror and do the calligraphy for you! Very tempted by this, lol.

I did one for a high-end hair salon a couple of years ago. I actually put vinyl on it with their prices, etc. The salon owner loved it, but it was a nightmare to make. I told him never again! lol

Monica B- Exactly what I'm afraid of! You're making a case for this Etsy seller lol. Plus the mirror would be mine to keep after the wedding. Hmmmmmm

I would love to do something like that, but finding a mirror in the size I would need would be pretty pricey, unless I lucked out and found one at a thrift shop. But I'm just not that lucky AND it would probably cost more than it would to have an etsy vendor create one and me take it to Staples to print on foam board

I don't really have any advice, but I just wanted to add that I think it's really pretty and I think the white is definitely easier to read.

Ooh I've been thinking about this same thing! I'm in love with the idea/look but am having a hard time swallowing the big price tag. :/

B- Yeah, the price is what makes me pause as well, when regular escort cards will be cheaper. Question is by how much?

Christine, I LOVE the mirror table seating idea and I follow the blog of a vendor in my area who does the calligraphy. But my numbers are like Maltese so it's just a sweet dream for me, LOL!

The mirror is beautiful but the only way i can see you doing it yourself is it you have someone with really nice handwriting do it. i printed mine on cardstock and glued it in a picture frame I got at the thrift store. it's not as nice as I wanted but i was so stressed that last week I did not care. It did the trick. This is mine. the top part is a diagram. We had long tables instead of rounds so I didn't want the numbers confusing anyone.

If you want to try it using a cheap mirror, check Family Dollar. I think I remember seeing a pretty large one for only $10 there. There's also one pictured on the top left of the link below:

Rosie- Thanks for the tip! I definitely like that price lol.

Mrs.Temme- That came out really nicely! I agree, I'd either have to get someone with REALLY nice handwriting (so I couldn't do it myself haha) or hire a calligrapher.

I plan on using a mirror for my seating chart but not handwritten. This is a less expensive way to kind of get the same look. You can have really pretty cards printed and attach them to the mirror. I also bought a gold antique easel and mirror during a consignment shop annual sale. I got both for $75 but the mirror does need some work. I plan to paint it and fix up the easel a bit. Still a steal for $75. That was the price of the easel alone originally. You just have to look for a good sale!
