Missing Videography Footage?

Hello!

Four months married and this week we received our wedding video, which is a beautiful 3 minute summary of the day. In addition, we received dvds of what contain "raw footage" of the day.

Looking at the footage, I noticed that there were a number of things missing where I remember the videographer present and taping at the time. One instance is our first dance, where there is a several second cut. Fortunately, a wedding party member videotaped the first dance on her cell phone, so I at least have that.

Is it possible the videographer stopped filming during the first dance portion for those few seconds, and it is normal to raw footage to leave things out?

That sucks. I am fortunate that I love my wedding video. It has lots of sections like the first dance, toasts in addition to the main video and the trailer. He even put the video of the hospital wedding on there for me. I would call and ask what the deal is.

Someone may have walked between the videographer and you and got edited out.

I went ahead and email the videographer regarding missing footage. He said that he would check to see if it has it. I've also asked for the raw individual files just to have footage from the day.

Lucky that I have friends.family who had their cell phones/cameras out and taking videos the entire day!

On the bright side, some of the more awkward moments from the day weren't included in the footage. That's not a bad thing!

Yeah, there's a few seconds missing from the first dance. Unfortunately, it's the key few seconds where my husband does a spin that surprises everyone there. If the missing clip wasn't that part I would have let it slide.

There's also a speech that's missing, but the videographer is sure he taped it and will get back to me on that.
