Mix and match dress colors

Danielle, on February 1, 2023 at 11:27 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 15
Hi!

Saw this picture online and was inspired to do mix and match colors with earth tones for bridesmaids dresses this summer. I was thinking terracotta, eucalyptus, and agave from Azazie (second picture), but wondering if this is too chaotic! Anyone ever see something similar?
Thanks!

I honestly didn't notice the bride until I looked closer at the bouquets. I think too many colors are overpowering.

I agree that too many different colors are overpowering and distract from the couple getting married.

The agave looks really light, maybe a sage green? Are you only having 3 bridesmaids or multiple. I like the eucalyptus and terracotta together. I agree that too many colors can be too much, but I can still very clearly notice the bride in the above picture.

Thank you for the feedback! I have 7 bridesmaides which is why I thought different colors might be a way to break things up 🤷🏼‍♀️ ! Considering doing just eucalyptus and terracotta as well, just wasn’t sure if they were too bold/different without a buffer color.

Thanks! I’m still so torn, but such a sucker for greens and oranges.

This may be unnecessary since you picked 3 colors, but I though this was your picture, taken from behind: 7 bridesmaids in a full fall rainbow. But, if you use your fingers and block out everyone but the dark green and rust at end, you can use the trees as the eucalyptus color.

I honestly think it’s cute idea. I’ve been thinking about doing the same thing for my own wedding. My colors are different than yours.

Good point! We will have a very green background so just the two colors could work! Admittedly I do love this rainbow look… Smiley smile

If you have a MOH put her in one, and the rest in others.

Agree with Alyssa. That is what I did. I was the same as you and fell in love with the multiple colors idea, but I came to realize that Pinterest is dangerous: everything on there was carefully crafted so *perfectly* and maybe even a filter added to make it look fantastic. In real life, if you don’t curate the different dresses perfectly, it ends up looking kind of clunky and chaotic. I decided to just make my MOH the only one in a different color. It was still within our palette and coordinated with the other color, so it didn’t look so busy:
