Mixed color linens!

SXC, on May 13, 2013 at 3:45 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 9

Does anyone here have pictures of their reception (or someone else's) where they used different color linens for the reception? I can't seem to find any for the life of me and I'm trying to determine if I should use one color or multiples. The girl at the rental company suggested it and FI thought it'd be nice too but I can't say I've ever seen it done and I'm having a hard time imagining it or thinking it might look too chaotic. Jewel tones would be great since I'm thinking of deep purple blue and green.

What about doing a table runner in either color? and having the cloth be the other option. I would look at event planner sites of what they have done or linen rental places websites. they should have some options

We plan on doing it. This is the only pic I could easily find online.

Here are a few examples. One incorporates a patterned linen in addition to the solid linen. I think the key is to stay complimentary and only use two colors with a neutral.

We almost went with mixed linens... White solid, silver "Imperial Stripe" overlay, then light blue napkins. To save money we decided just to go with the light blue napkins and white tablecloths. Silver chargers would have been a nice touch, but I'm not going to spend an extra $300 for chargers.

Hmm, this is helpful. I love that first image, but I doubt my centerpieces would be that extravagant. We have the option to go with several flat color options and no extra cost to mix and match colors but we don't get any of the really fancy shimmery linens and I don't really feel like paying extra to upgrade. Any one else have more pictures? Smiley smile

I can't find any pics (other than what was posted) but I think it would look great.

I'm not sure if it's because the linens I have to choose from are very flat in color or I'm just being indecisive (probably both). I have swatches of 3 of the linen colors I've thought about together that I can stare at all day long but don't know if I want to do a combo of 2 or all 3 together!
