Mixed gender wedding party

Maddifa, on August 24, 2021 at 1:09 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 7
My fiancé and I are wanting to have our siblings stand by our sides at the wedding. We want to have my brother by me as a Man of Honor and my soon-to-be sister in law next to my fiancé as a Best Women. We still want to have traditional Best Man and Maid of Honor roles and tasks.

Our plan is to have my brother wearing the bridesmaids colors but same style as the groomsmen and my soon-to-be sister in law in the groomsmen colors but in a dress style as the bridesmaids.
Anyone else doing something similar to this? Any ideas/suggestions?

I love how more couples are ditching old traditions to make their weddings more meaningful and representative of the couple! I have 2 incredibly important friends that I could never choose between, so I will be having both a maid of honor and a man of honor standing with me.

Lots of people are doing this now having bridesmen or groomswomen. Whenever I see weddings like this, I think the outfits look awesome.

Your plan is what we were going to do. COVID didn't allow our wedding party to be there at the wedding, but our groomswoman was going to wear a dress in the groomsman suit colors. I love that you're asking your siblings to stand on the side that makes sense relationship wise instead of gender wise.

Yes! We are doing this! My fiancé is extremely close with one of his sisters, so he made her his Best Woman. She is planning his bachelor party and all for him. Day of the wedding, she’s going to come get ready with the girls for hair and makeup, but go first so she can leave and meet my fiancé with his guys and hang out. For her outfit, she chose to do a black dress because the groomsmen are wearing black suits and she’s picking burgundy accents, like her jewelry since our main color is burgundy. She’s also going to do a corsage instead of a bouquet. She’s having a really good time with it!
My best friend’s husband also did a Best Woman, and they chose to do a joint bachelor/bachelorette party with a boys v. girls theme. It was a lot of fun because we all got to spend time together before they got married. Have fun with it!

I have my 2 male best friends walking as bridesmen and I have them wearing sequin bowties that match my bridesmaids' dresses but the same color suits as the groomsmen.

Yes we have a best woman and a bridesman. Pinterest has a lot of good ideas if you search groomsgirl and bridesman. My bridesmaids are wearing burgundy dresses and my bridesman is wearing a burgundy suit. The groomsmen are wearing navy suits with burgundy ties and the groomsgirl is wearing a navy dress.
