Mixing dried flowers and fresh flowers?

AshleyR, on February 5, 2016 at 10:08 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 3

So I'm starting to think about flowers, I really like the look (and price) of dried flowers but I also look at photos of gorgeous fresh flower bouquets and my heart pines a little bit. So, I'm wondering, do you think it would look silly to say, have a fresh flower bouquet but dried flower centerpieces ( or vice versa)? How about if the BMs have dried flower bouquets, GMs have dry bouts and just I have a fresh bouquet? Weird? I would obviously try to match the color schemes, but would like opinions on whether or not this would look odd. Pic is an inspiration example Smiley smile

My experience with dried flowers, is that some become very fragile and can fall apart. If i were to use dried flowers i would use them in a centerpiece or something that's not going to be moved much.

I was just searching google trying to find info on the same thing! I really want to have a lot of dried lavender at my wedding but was considering also ordering white roses in bulk and having a large bouquet of white roses as part of the centerpiece but also surrounded by smaller accents of lavender. (Dried buds in glass jars with candles, etc) Having a hard time deciding if that would look weird. May just have to order a few bunches and test it out. I was also thinking of having my bouquet be just roses (maybe with a lavender ribbon?) and my MOH's be dried lavender.

The general consensus I get when looking things up is "do what you want". Smiley smile

Personally, I love your inspiration bouquet. I actually saw that one on etsy and was considering basing my colors around it because I thought it was so pretty! I think it could totally work as long as there is a common theme with colors.

Here is a pic of a few things on Pinterest I've mashed together to give a general idea of what I was thinking for mine.
