Mixing Metals

Mary, on December 7, 2016 at 8:10 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 13

Does anyone have a mixed metal wedding ring set? Can you share your photos? I'm debating pairing my white gold engagement ring with rose gold or yellow gold wedding bands.

I don't personally have one, my engagement ring came with a matching wedding band, but I think these can look really nice, hop on Pinterest and you'll see pics of lots of pretty variations of mixed metal ring pairings. Have you tried any mixed metal sets on, do you have any photos of what you're considering?

My set is matched, but my e-ring is yellow gold with a white gold setting.

My sister in law paired a rose gold band with her white gold e-ring. Both rings are very delicate and stack nicely and I think they look amazing. Sorry i don't have a picture.

I'm also in the "I don't have one but I think it can look really pretty" camp.

My best friend has a white gold e-ring and 2 rose gold bands and I think it looks gorgeous together. She sent me this recently (showing me her nails but I zoomed) hopefully you can see it!

I paired my platinum engagement ring with a white-rose-white gold wedding band. DH's wedding band is yellow-white-yellow gold. See attached photo.

I like mixed metals a lot too!

The only place you want to be careful is very different metals rubbing on each other...if you get a stainless steel band, and an 18 karat rose gold ering, that stainless will wear down the gold much faster by rubbing on it (assuming you don't have them soldered).

I don't have a picture, but FH is designing a white and rose gold band to go with my white gold e-ring because rose gold is my favorite metal. I think the mixed metal sets are really pretty!

My engagement ring is rose gold with a champagne diamond, and my wedding band is white gold with white diamonds! Future Hubby bought them as a set so I didn't have to pick out anything. I love them both!

I think that as long as the style coordinates mixed metal is gorgeous! I only think it looks weird when the design is different too, then it just looks like the person got confused.

I have a white gold e ring, and almost purchased to thin rose gold bands because FH really wanted to incorporate rose gold into his band. He decided he wanted a more traditional band in the end though. But they combo looked great before.
