Modern or Traditional: Dessert?

Are you serving a traditional, multi-tiered wedding cake at your reception? Or are you switching it up with a more modern, alternative dessert option? Both! We're going to have a traditional tiered cake, but as another option we're going to have a flaming donuts station with ice cream - so excited!!

Totally traditional! My favorite food is cake. I would eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! We are having the biggest cake I can fit into our budget! Smiley smile

Hi Taylor! I LOVE this idea! Smiley heart Super unique and that way, you can still have a cake for the cake cutting tradition but there's other, modern dessert options too!

Hi Stephanie Smiley heart That's what I'm thinking, now, too. Smiley kiss This thread has me feeling a bit more of a sweet-tooth than usual.

Modern. We're planning on a one-tier cake for ourselves, and then cupcakes on a beautiful display for all of our guests, as well as the traditional Pittsburgh cookie table, and, since we are having a Halloween wedding, a Trick-Or-Treat Candy Bar.

No traditional wedding cake for us. Custom made apple and honey mini cakes (sort of a play on a Rosh Hashanah tradition since we got married on the first day of Rosh Hashanah), custom flavored donuts, cookies, whoopie pies, brownies, etc.

We're sticking with the traditional tiered cake and I'm so excited! Think I'm most excited for that part of the reception... Lol

    Both I think!
A wedding cake for us to cut, but our caterer includes dessert, so I think we’re doing cake and mini fruit tarts or something similar (haven’t entirely decided yet though 😊 )

We did a mix. We did a small cutting cake along with a s'mores bar & ice cream bar. Guests adored the options.

Modern. Dessert bar! Mini pies, mini bundt cakes, mini cupcakes, macarons, and cookies. Plus a cutting cake since FH still wants the tradition of cutting an actual cake.

Cake one: Vanilla and Death by Chocolate

    Cake two: Strawberries and champagne.

    Cookies: Chocolate chip and M&M

Cake balls: Red Velvet, Chocolate and Lemon(I think)
