Modern or Traditional: Dessert?

We are having a traditional cake but are also thinking about maybe doing a dessert bar with desserts in the color of our wedding. I was thinking about a candy bar and FH said he would rather it be a dessert bar.

Burnt orange and dusty blue... Which is why we thought it might be easier to get desserts that color versus candy haha

It was supposed to be burnt orange and plum but someone so kindly pointed out that would look like I was trying to do a Clemson wedding And while I don't mind Clemson (It's FH team and I didn't grow up on college football so I don't have a team) I also don't want people walking to my wedding thinking I chose those colors for Clemson so I changed it to dusty blue which I still love and I think I actually love more than the plum any way

Alternative! The groom and I are having a small wedding cake made for the two of us and then a dessert buffet for our guests (candy, donuts, cupcakes, cookies, etc).

We kept it pretty traditional! A strawberry cake with buttercream frosting for me, and a chocolate cake with chocolate covered tuxedo strawberries for the groom's cake!

We're doing a traditional cake, just because we've cut so many other things out of the wedding to save money that I think my mother would cry if we didn't do a cake cutting lol. And since she's helping us to pay for everything, and we don't have much of a preference, we're letting Mom take the wheel on that one. The baker is doing an awesome job for us though! Bottom tier will be French vanilla cake with raspberry mousse filling, topped with two other smaller tiers with the same French vanilla cake but with chocolate mousse filling. White icing decorated in a more spaced out Swiss dot design. It's gonna be gorgeous (and delicious)!

Our venue menu includes the cake! That's goals right there.

We are doing two jar desserts (banoffee pie & chocolate cheesecake) and our cake can be a different flavour per tier. TBD on the exact flavour combos, but we are thinking one tier of coconut with strawberry jam, and the other being white chocolate and raspberry with white chocolate ganache. Both with vanilla buttercream frosting. Feed me now, please!

Um, I guess I'll say more modern. We won't only be having sheet cakes, but cheese cakes, cookies, cupcakes. Basically a smorgasbord of desserts.
