Next thing I know, he dropped to his knees and asked my daughters if he could marry their mom. They were squealing. I'm sobbing by this point! Then he turned to me and pulled a plastic egg out of his pocket and asked. Then we made a facebook post a few hours later. Which no one believed at first because Easter coincidentally was on April Fool's this year!

We called our immediate family and grandparents the night he proposed, and then made a post on Instagram the next day. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Which was a year ago on this upcoming Saturday, and we are attending a wedding so 😂😂

A mix of both. We called most of our close friends and family, and then I not so subtly posted on Instagram!

Modern, we called everyone we wanted to tell ourselves and then as soon as the last person was called I posted a big announcement with pictures and he changed our relationship status

I think calling was more fun. It was fun to hear the excitement and joy from everyone. Although a lot of my friends guessed it before I could tell them because I am not much of a phone talker and they were like it is odd for you to be calling haha

Modern. I let my parents and siblings know a few hours after and then my closest friends the next day. I agree with the others that hearing reactions on the phone calls and texts was so much fun. We waited 3 or 4 days to make it "public" on Facebook & Instagram and managed to book a venue in that time so we were able to announce the date in the same post!

My hometown local newspaper runs an annual engagement/wedding special so I will probably submit something after the wedding is over.

Modern..we were out of the country in the middle of our trip, so we just announced on facebook. I would’ve loved to announce it in the paper..maybe for our wedding. It’ll make a nice keepsake!

Modern engagement announcement

Very modern. We were in Paris and our families were in the states still sleeping. We text them, waited for them all to text back that they got it, and then posted to all of our social media platforms like the millennials we are lol We called those most close to us when we had a strong enough signal later that night.

We posted it on Facebook before telling everyone in person., which back fired on our part. A lot of unhappy family members
