Modern or Traditional: Engagement Announcement?

Modern, we posted pictures on Facebook and texted or called some family members.

A mixture of telling people face-to-face, via video calls, phone calls and e-mails, and even telling some people via WhatsApp!

Both. We posted it on social media and then my mom put an announcement in my hometown paper.

View Quoted Comment It was nice. I don't live in my hometown anymore so it was nice getting calls from family and friends who do live there letting me know they saw our announcement. A few even mailed us copies of it so it ended up being a great keepsake I had not thought of.

Neither. it was done with some phone calls and in person and finally a facebook post.

We announced it a week or two later after we were able to tell all of our family members in person but we still plan to put a photo in the newspaper since my parents are traditional!

We texted and called close family and the friends that were not there (she proposed in front of a bunch of our friends who were photographing it for her). Then after all the important people knew we posted on FB

Modern, because we had the pictures from the engagement but were deployed before we could do anything else plus neither of our families are around where we live

Neither I suppose! We kind of casually told everyone once we set a date and started planning.

We did a cross of modern and old fashioned. We didnt do a post. Our profiles say we are just in a relationship. We had a small group of family and friends he dressed up and the decorated our house when his mom and I came back from shopping he proposed to me to a song that was played at a concert we went to!

Modern! We told our parents, his Best Man, and my Man of Honor before we made a Facebook post (or rather just changed our relationship status to “engaged”).

We told our close family and friends in person or via phone then did a facebook post

I posted a pic with a paragraph explaining my love for my FH on Facebook.

My announcement

My FH had his dad video the proposal and posted it on Facebook and then we changed our statuses.

We called our few close friends about an hour after then went over to my moms to tell her in person! then a few hours later told the world on facebook lol
