Modern or Traditional: First Look?

Modern! We did a first look and it was the best decision that we made! It was so perfect and special and it really did calm my nerves before the ceremony!

On top of that we got all our pictures done and we were able to enjoy cocktail hour with our guest! I would not want to do it any other way!

Because of our venue, my groom wouldn't be able to really see me walk down the aisle (it was in a garden with a winding path), so we opted for a first look. It was wonderful! And it gave us more time for photos before the ceremony, and we got to spend much more time with our friends and family

Modern. Our first look was amazing. I loved having a private moment with my husband on a day that all eyes were going to be on us. Getting all the pictures done first so we could join our guests was a huge perk as well.

Traditional. I want to see his raw reaction after not seeing me all night and the reveal down the aisle.

I am planning on doing a first look with my dad, then maybe my FH. haven't quite decided. But I know for a fact my dad will see me first

We both originally wanted this to be traditional, but after talking to our photographer - we're going modern and so happy for extra time together!!

This picture is SO sweet. I really want to do a first look, he wants to go traditional. Real soon we are going to have to come to an agreement.

We are still undecided on this, but I think we are leaning towards modern. I ALWAYS wanted traditional, but my FH seems to favor a first look more. He's expressed concern about being too nervous in front of all those people to display genuine emotion. First look also works better with our timeline, but I'm still a little disappointed that the first time he sees me won't be when I walk down the aisle.

As a compromise, our first look will be just us. We'll do our first look, take pictures, open our wedding gifts, read our wedding day letters, and then go our separate ways until the ceremony. I don't want to have our first look moment "ruined" by then having all of the BP come in for pictures. If we're going to do it, we're going to keep it intimate and the time limited. I'll do pics with my girls beforehand and he with his guys, but pics with the entire BP will have to wait until after the ceremony. This is the little solution I came up with to make me feel better about the first look.

It's such a special moment! I think this is one of my favorite things about the ceremony!
