Modestly endowed brides- silicone push up pads- do they work?

Patricia, on April 4, 2011 at 12:56 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 10

I'm cutting the thin straps off my dress and making it a sweetheart neckline. It has a built-in corset, and they said they could add cups to it (I haven't done any fittings yet). Was browsing Fredericks' site and wondered if silicone push up pads would give my borderline B/C cups a lift/create some cleavage. I don't want anything over the top (no pun intended, lol),but feel like the existing fit smooshes me in/makes me look flat. See pic of the model in the dress below as the pics I have of me in the sample don't really help bc my hair is down across my chest.

The pads in question: http://www.fredericks.com/Silicone_Push-Up_Pads/53192,default,pd.html?cgid=wec15

The silicone cuups probably won't give you cleavage. They add size outward, not upward. I think you'd get better cleavage with the straps because you could wear a good bra with straps.

But the sweetheart neckline could give the appearance of larger breasts, but won't provide cleavage.

Hmmm, let me attach a very unflattering pic I have to show that I do have some shape outwards but just wanted a little cleavage to show up top (pic doesn't have the front of the dress pinned down into a sweetheart neckline). Ignore the bland necklace & tan lines.

I think you look great!! Maybe you can get cheap "fillers" for your next fitting to just take a few pics with them in, and a few with them out to compare. I'm not sure that you'll get cleavage with just some extra cup padding.

I always say I am a card carrying member of the IBTC (Itty Bitty Titty Committee) with a barely B cup myself. I can tell you from experience that the silicone inserts (I called them my chicken cutlets) only added some size (or shape) but no cleavage. Unfortunately you need straps or something to push you up and in to make the cleavage. Since my dress wasn't a sweetheart neckline I didn't bother, but if I'd wanted some cleavage I probably would have used some sort of 'tape' to acheive it. I know they actually sell tape for this purpose but I don't know what it's called.

They even have a "how to" for this using medical tape :-)

I'm an A/B cup...and i feel your pain! They have a new strapless "Miraculous" bra at VS...it adds up to 2 cupsizes! FH won't let me near them (he hates fake boobs) but I think it would give AWESOME cleavage!!!
