moh makeup trial?

Hannah, on May 11, 2022 at 8:05 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 7
I am my twin sisters MOH and I am currently booking her makeup trial! She asked if I would have a trial done as well with her but I have never heard of a bridesmaid getting a trial? Will the studio think this is a little weird? I have no problem doing it and she offered to pay for it, I think she’s just a little nervous about going and wants my
input.

Hmm I've never heard of a MOH makeup trial (although the MUA may be willing to do it for their trial fee). One idea would be to ask if the bride can bring someone along to the appt? If she's mostly looking for moral support, that might be the way to go? You could even say you'll wait in the waiting area for the majority of the time and just go in to look at the finished product (and of course consult with her on how you both are liking the finished look).

I don't think the studio would mind since they're getting paid for the second trial. Your sister may just want moral support, especially if she's never gotten her makeup professionally done or doesn't usually wear a lot of makeup. I'm sure they wouldn't mind you just tagging along if you don't want to get your makeup done, but it could also be a fun bonding moment.

It’s different but do what works for you. When researching hair/makeup vendors in a major city, there were a couple companies that offer bridesmaid trials. Most makeup companies said they barely do anything with bridesmaids at all even with charging a small fortune for their services , stating that “the bride is the focus”. Those can get scratched off the list for promoting the “bridesmaids are meant to be unattractive” mentality that goes along with decades of unflattering dresses.

Go for it. It will be a fun outing with your sister.

If you are identical twins, she has an advantage to see what she looks like with the makeover.

It won't work if like me, a friend was identical but she had her hair as black and her twin was blond.

We are fraternal twins, same hair color but just look like sisters. She said she wants to see what it will look on the bridesmaids but I know it’s primarily because she anxious about it and wants me to be with her. lol

In that case I would say go for it! Support your sister and make a fun outing of it. Perhaps you two can make a plan for something fun to do together after the trial is over.

Do you only find out that issue if you ask about doing bridesmaid trials? The charge for bridesmaids is pretty high if it is minimal attention to them.
