Mom @ Bachelorette?

My mom asked me if she is invited to my bachelorette party... is this normal? I was under the impression that your bachelorette is something that your MOH and bridesmaids throw for you. We don't have any other older women in our family, so it would be just my mom with a bunch of young girls all day, and I feel like she would probably feel awkward or left out. My mom and I are close and I feel really bad because when I told her that it was just bridesmaids for the bachelorette, she got offended. Are you guys inviting your mom to your bachelorette? Do you think I should invite her?
