Montgomery County, pa - Marriage Certificate Help

Goldfisch, on January 23, 2018 at 11:13 AM Posted in Married Life 0 7
I need some help, WW. I know PA (or at least Montgomery County) doesn't automatically send out a marriage certificate and that you'll need to request one via mail-in form. Is there a turn-around time for this? How long do I have to wait vetween the wedding (1/12) and sending this form? I thought I remembered it being 2 weeks, but I'm just not sure...

I'm driving myself crazy searching up our marriage license on the MontCo PA website, but none of the information has been updated yet. My officiant submitted the license on 1/17, which is well within their 10 day deadline.

I'm anxious to get my certified copies of the record so I can add DH to my insurance and begin the name change process ASAP (and we live in MD, which is another factor in my panic...). Any insight so I don't lose my dang mind? TIA!

Don’t forget that it’s business days. Weekends don’t count. That means your officiant only submitted it 4 days ago (today is only 3 hours in to normal business hours).

I wish I could just go, but I live 3 hours away and would have to take a day from work. I'll keep that in my pocket as a last resort. Thanks!

I'm mailing the form today just in case. I can't wait to put all this paperwork and panic behind me.

I recommend calling the clerk to find out their turnaround time.

I'm pretty sure you have to send in a self-address envelope as well as the mail-in request and check for the copy. We got married in Montco but got our license from Philly city hall and picked it up in person about a month after the wedding. You can call and ask, but I think the waiting period before you can even get a copy back was at least 2 weeks.

You're talking about the certified copies? I live in Chester County, I probably got them a week or two after I mailed in the form. As a PP said, you also need a self addressed envelope.
