Moon Palace Jamaica Grande

Hi Ladies,

Congrats on your engagements. I am inquiring about MPJG but they don't have a brochure or catalog of prices like all the other hotel all inclusive resorts. Does anyone happen to have the brochure catalog link? I have a wedding planner and we had just decided to take a look at this resort yesterday as my unofficial date is Nov 2018. Also if anyone else can give any more feedback or any pictures of where the locations are or can be held for the ceremony, cocktail and reception areas, that would be much appreciated.

So, I have been having so many issues with planning my wedding at Moon Palace Jamaica Resort. If it wasn't for my wedding planner Will Media who I hired here at home to help I would have probably lost it by now.

Can you guys kind of give me an idea of what I should be looking for? Lizet, the planner I have is awful she has not helped me one bit through my entire process. it wasn't until I started to complain she then wanted a phone call and to go over things. She never once went over pricing with me she actually didn't go over anything with me she basically sends me links and tells me what package to pick as if I'm supposed to be okay with that. I have 100 people coming to the wedding an I'm a nervous wreck loosing sleep because I do not think I'm getting the service we deserve. They are making me pay almost $4,000 in DJ and MC package along with another fee for music for my cocktail and then another fee to lay my dance floor down.

Sorry this is so long, can anyone give me some info on what I need to be doing? Am I getting taken advantage of?

Yes my wedding did happen it did turn out beautiful but they rape you with DJ fees and he literally sat there in a booth and played music from like a YouTube channel because you can hear the static half the song they kept asking for my iPod to play off of which mind you I paid $3,200 for a dj and then $800 for an MC so that’s one thing.

So I had 108 guest attend my wedding crazy for a destination check in was horrific they said they “upgrade” the bride and groom my room was a shoe box it was awful I cried and cried the entire first day until they finally upgraded as they said they would to a bigger room. The resort is wonderful foods amazing drinks are great but the service at the front desk and wedding planning part is absolutely horrific. I don’t mean to scare you but I was on them for so long on so many things. I lost almost 10lbs because of the stress they put me though. The only thing I can say is be on them as much as you can or you won’t get what you want. It is YOUR wedding day.

Any brides who've recently had their wedding at MP? Looking to have a wedding there around January 2022 and wanted to see if I can get any insight before putting down a deposit! Some of the reviews above about a lack of responsiveness from the planner makes me anxious, because I'm already dealing with that with the group/wedding sales specialist and I will not be ok with that when it comes to my planner. In addition, one of my main concerns about them is their ridiculously high outside vendor fee.. they charge $1000, and even if they are a guest they charge $500 even if they're staying on the resort!? That's way more than any other resort i've looked at. So.. did anyone go with the vendors onsite and what was your experience? My main concerns are DJ (I mean.. that MAKES the party) and hair and makeup. Super nervous about makeup - I'm asian and I feel like not all artists know how to work with our features.
