More excited to plan my 30th B'day than our 1st Anniversary

OldSchoolKindaLove, on August 12, 2019 at 12:26 PM Posted in Married Life 0 4

So, I know this may make me sound horrible, but from those of you who have followed my other posts, you may understand....

My birthday is 6 months away, and I want to plan something awesome because it's my big 3-O! I am so excited about this! I was looking up several ideas on ways to celebrate my birthday with my family and friends. I am thinking a themed party, or getting a group of people to go on a trip together.

Sadly enough our first anniversary is only a little over a month away, and I have not put any thought into this.

I get this! We had our 2 year anniversary in March and while I had something in mind life intruded...I got sick, he had back issues, etc. and I fell down on the job so to speak of making it up to him at that time. I felt very negligent but then I was concentrating more on his 50th big birthday celebrations (plural!) and I was frankly more excited about planning all that lol than our anniversary!!

Also wanted to add, 30 is a big deal and it's great to celebrate you!! You are your own best advocate for yourself and I say go ahead with the big plans!! Just make sure to do together for your anniversary too! 😊

I agree with Helena. Yes, you're married, but you're still an individual who deserves to be celebrated!

You've had a hard time in your marriage. It is completely understandable to be excited about something outside of that. Enjoy yourself!
