More than 3 colors ??

Brittanie, on May 14, 2019 at 1:29 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 13
I really want this scheme of colors but my family and bridesmaids think that it’s too broad of a range and I need to lessen the scheme to just 2-3 of the 5. (I want a range so that it’s not so difficult to try and match every last decoration to just 2 exact colors or shades).

Personally, I think it’s up to you how many colors you want. I’m doing maroon and silver with a bit of navy but I’m not being exact on the definition of maroon vs burgundy or navy vs deep blue

I would just narrow it down to navy, blush, and coral and then use the cream as an accent

When it is all said and done people may only be able to identify 2 or 3 of the colors as "your wedding colors" but when it comes to floral, decor and details you will want that variety of color. I'm doing moss green, deep purple, red, antique gold and light gold. In all people will only notice red and gold but having the others will make the event look more complete.

I think pick one of the colors for the bridesmaids dresses. Pick another for the flowers. Use the rest for accents (flowers, decor, etc). I'm doing steel blue dresses, peach and ivory flowers and ivory/burlap tablecloths. Technically I have two colors, but I have accent colors to tie it all together.

I initially wanted to have 5 main colors, but it was difficult to incorporate them all equally. Now, I'm doing rose gold, pink, and navy with accents of gold and silver. We're still having 5 colors, but there's not as much gold and silver throughout the wedding so I just made them accent colors.

I say get 2 or 3 main colors and use the others as accents. We are doing burgundy and navy with accents of blush and cream.

Yeah, the main colors are supposed to just be Navy and Blush and the others are really just to help blend everything together so that I’m not running around trying to get the exact same shades of Navy and Blush for all the decor lol so I’m thinking the other peachy tone and cream will be accents

Having a wedding palette is perfectly normal. Most brides emphasize on one color when it comes to dresses and use the others to compliment. Our wedding is in December and we're playing off of the season with shades of reds, greens, some browns, white, and metallic accents. The only thing that will stand out is my bridesmaids dresses which will be a steel blue because I couldn't see putting them in either a red or green dress. (Just too Christmas-y to me).

How gorgeous😍 I’m going for a vintage style but I just didn’t want to be surrounded by nothing but off-white and my husband doesn’t want to be surrounded by just pale pink so Navy and Blush was our median lol.

Thank you. Smiley laugh And once you add florals and greenery that will elevate everything else.

My color scheme is the 1st, 3rd and 5th one you have here lol. I had a tiny bit of difficulty matching some things, mainly finding flowers. Nothing that caused me to have to change my whole vision.

It's your wedding, girl! Use as many colors as you want! IMO, these colors are a nice, cohesive palette, so as others have said (at it appears you intended), most people will only notice the navy and blush. Sometimes you need a few accent colors thrown in.

I'm all about a full color palette!! Smiley heart Think of it like 2-3 "main" colors and the rest are accents!

A larger color palette helps your decor from becoming too matchy-matchy and frees you up from worrying about exact color matching between different companies and decor pieces!
