Morning, afternoon or evening?

Morning sounds like a good idea until I realize what time hair and makeup would have to start.

FI refuses to pay anyone to do her hair or makeup considering she's been in community theater since she was like 12. But we're still starting in the late afternoon and going until the hour is no longer a single digit, because we don't want to have to leave our house before 2pm, and if we start at 3 that means 5pm dinner, which seems too early.

2:00 pm... loooong Mass with cocktail hour immediately after, so the whole thing will run from about 2 pm - 9 pm.

I went to a 10:30 wedding a couple months ago! It wasn't terribly early as an in-town guest, but I can't imagine having to get up so early to get ready. Unfortunately, things dragged out and lunch wasn't served until 3... I was HANGRY.

We are planning a morning wedding with a brunch reception. We live on over 100 acres and have a large Pennsylvania bank barn that we are preparing for the occasion.

The ceremony is tentatively being planned for 10:00 am ( with a bagel/scone and coffee bar available for guests before the ceremony so they aren't famished by the time brunch begins). Brunch to follow immediately after.

There will be an evening bonfire with s*mores, hot dogs, and possibly fireworks to complete the day.

Ours is in the afternoon. Our ceremony is at 2pm and our reception ends at 9:30. This isn't my ideal timeline, but there are 2 ballrooms at my venue and the couple in the other ballroom booked their ceremony first for 4pm. My venue requires 2 hours in between ceremonies so it was either 2pm or 6pm and in October the sun is almost setting at 6.

11:00 due to time restrictions at the park we're getting hitched at.

6:30pm wedding, cocktail hour at 7.

1:30 service and 5:30 reception So a bit of both afternoon and evening!

Haha VERY true @Rebecca ~ though I'm sure I've seen questions about it over the years, so I was kind of curious!

As of right now our ceremony starts at 12:00. When we decided to switch to a lunch reception, I wanted a 10:30 or 11:00 ceremony but my mom and one of my BMs strongly suggested pushing it to 11:30 or 12:00 so we went with noon.

@Ashley ~ I love the idea of a brunch reception! I adore brunch ~ and I'm always up early, so as a guest, I'd be totally on board for that

11:30am ceremony with a brunch reception 12-4... so it's mostly in the afternoon.
