Morning of Breakfast at Salon

Angie, on June 3, 2018 at 7:57 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 11
I'm a week away from my wedding and I'm starting to prep for the day of. The salon at which my girls and I will be getting our hair and makeup done said we can bring in food and drinks of we want. I'm wondering what I should provide. Our morning starts at 8 and we leave you go to the church around 11:30. I'm thinking bagels, cream cheese, fruit, etc but am wondering if that will keep us going until dinner at 5:30. HELP!

Last wedding I was a part of, we had breakfast/brunch and then nothing until about 730. I ended up hangry/with a horrid headache. Those all sound yum! But maybe at least a more substantial option? I know I’m already craving the chicken mini tray from chick fil a that I will be getting for myself and my girls!! Also, adding a snack in between those two times would be so helpful. Even like some home-mixed trail mix (non messy). Just some thoughts, good luck on your last leg of planning/waiting for the big day!!!

As a chronically hungry person I know that I would become hangry! I would get some non-messy snacks and maybe something with a little protein in it so it’s somewhat filling

Your breakfast ideas sound good but I would have some protein bars or other snacks available to your WP after the ceremony.

Sounds great but provide snacks from them to eat in between until dinner. I had that time length before and ended so sick with headache and didn't eat much of the dinner.

Definitely have snacks after the ceremony. I've been in a few weddings where the bride got us breakfast, but totally didn't think about the afternoon and we were starving by the cocktail hour.

I recommend including protein options too to help keep them from being hungry. That is a long time to go without eating plus if they are drinking while getting ready that's not a good combination. I'm curious why you have to be at the church so early?

Not the church, the salon. There's a fair number of us and the ceremony is at 1:30.

No, I meant the church. You said you had to be there at 11:30 but your dinner isn't until 5:30. Usually the dinner immediately follows the ceremony starting with the cocktail hour. So if your ceremony starts at 1:30 it seems you will have more than a 3 hour gap between them. You not only have to make sure your wedding party and VIPs are being fed during this time but you need to take care of your guests too. In any event you need to make sure the wedding party and VIPs get actual food during the day not just snacks and bagels. They need lunch.

We are getting ready from 11 AM - 4 PM. I'm getting each girl a Panera lunch box (sandwich, salad, soup or half and half of 2 with chips, cookie & apple) and letting the girls choose what they want. Then we will have mimosas, and a fruit & veggie tray. The guys are coming from 2-4, so they will have pretzels, beer, some tiny sandwiches, and veggies.

I would go with no bread I would feel full and bloated if I ate bread. Maybe more protein like bacon and eggs.

I'd definitely work in some snacks along the way. even just a 5 minute snack break with some finger foods like pinwheels or granola bars when you get to the church would be helpful. Maybe have a point person in charge of keeping snacks ready for everyone. The last thing you want is someone passing out!
