Morning of Cocktails?

Nyikee, on February 10, 2019 at 10:40 PM Posted in Planning 0 46

I'm looking to have a morning of cocktail for my girls and myself for before/while we get ready and while we wait for the time to come! What are some ideas you have or have seen?

I love mimosa's for the morning of! They're yummy and not too much liquor so your girls won't get wasted quickly. Sometimes carbonation can cause bloating though so you can also make them with white wine and orange juice that way you won't have to worry about that! I also like to switch up the juices pineapple and grapefruit are great choices!

You can dress them up with fresh fruit too!

I’ll have mimosas for my girls! I personally won’t be drinking because I have a bad stomach and I don’t wanna risk anything that will make my feel like crap...literally...sorry for the tmi...but I’ll have it available for the girls if they want it!

I have a negative bias towards alcohol before a wedding. I’ve seen this before and the bride was clearly intoxicated, while the groom was so embarrassed. And I’m sure it causes bloating. If I absolutely had to drink before my wedding, I would probably do small piña colada a good 3+ hours before.

What kind of liquor do you prefer? I have tons of suggestions but don’t want to name them if they’re not your preference.

I’ve been to tons of weddings and most people have a drink or 2 before to calm the nerves nothing wrong with that, obviously you need to be an adult about it and keep yourself in check. But I see no issue having a couple cute cocktails with your girls!

Definitely leaning towards mimosas, but we’re having a brunch reception and will be having a mimosa bar there so I wasn’t sure if that would be too much. I think I might offer coffee and tea since we’ll be getting up so early, and maybe Irish cream or something for the coffee 😊

For my brunch I’m offering smoothies but they’ll be alcoholic for those who prefer I just think that the fruit and juice is what I want to give them with alcohol in the morning because I want them to stay more towards sober (feel fruit and juice content will help this cause) and not have strong drinks until we get through it and they can get so lit that they literally have to get loaded into the shuttle for all I care

I would probably do something like a mimosa. But I also love bloody marys, alot of places around me do bloody marys for brunch, I feel light that could be a bit much but maybe if someone is careful about how strong they are this could be a choice. Also what about spiked seltzer water ( like Henry's Hard water or White Claw)

Mimosas, OJ, coffee & water. Perhaps have some food, maybe little finger sandwiches or egg burritos that can be cut in half? (Maybe ask your MOH to encourage you to eat. I was so anxious & excited I barely took a few bites of pizza and sipped only 1/2 glass of bubbly.)

I'm making sure to include a breakfast with my girls, and definitely a light lunch before we get dressed! we're able to go to our venue as early as 11, but the girls and i will probably go around 12:20 or so. We will be spending the morning doing hair and make up and i will have my HMUA team meet us at the venue at 1 for my hair and make up. So basically from when we have breakfast and while we are getting the girls ready, we will be having a light drink. The best part about alcoholic drinks is you can always control how much alcohol they have when you make them.

I just like hard alcohol and sweet wine like moscato. However, my MOH doesn't drink vodka, so that's pretty much the only thing out of the question, but i feel like it would be easy enough to replace any vodka with some silver rum or something.

I'm not really looking for anything with champagne, though.

    I love sharing ideas

only reason im still coming lol

it can be a bit harsh/judgy sometimes lol

but I’m genuinely honored that any of my ideas are thought to be good enough for anyone to consider using them

i love coming and finding that one super idea that’s perfect for me when I “knew” what I wanted but couldn’t imagine the exact detail that would make it perfect

hows planning going for you? Mostly done or a long road still?
