MOST important to you at your wedding..

Tabatha, on August 17, 2012 at 4:41 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 33

What is the most important things to you at your wedding besides the people.. we know they come first.. (aww)

IE: Food? Food and entertainment? Your dress? The venue? The decor? The pictures? The alcohol? The ceremony?

I'm curious because for us it's been interesting seeing how it changed from decor and venue to Food, and entertainment and what we say in the ceremony.. Then Honeymoon.

I meant the event, obviously our groom and family is most important. Sweet though.

Honestly nothing else matters to me...but if I have to choose then I would have to say the officiant....I found one I really liked and wouldn't budge, had to have him =)

Ceremony was most important to us overall. Our church and officiant and organist were AHmazing. I loved every second of our ceremony and I so hoped it would be that way.

    Reception:

    Food and booze.

    Music.

    Photography.

    Decor.

Our kids. While it is suppose to be our Big day, it is just as big a day for them, and they have always been our priority.

When we were planning our DW in Vermont, the most important thing to us was that we were surrounded by love. Our wedding had to take place at a particular venue that we go to yearly with our riding friends. It also had to be in the fall. After that, it was all about the booze and food. Okay, so maybe the booze was more important than the food. : ) Seriously, we wanted our ceremony to be totally us(laid back and untraditional) and we wanted the entire weekend to be a blast.

    We succeeded on all levels.

I guess our most important thing was that we be able to choose every detail, so finding a venue that allowed us to do that was #1. Then food, booze and dj.

Venue, I think. It has to be something that will be comfortable for all of our guests and not create more work than it needs to be. Down to 5!

If I had to pick the important part of the reception after all of the people...it would be the food! I am a huge food person. At Thanksgiving, I cook enough for 50 people, but only have 10 invited. There has to be good food and lots of it!

Well besides the obvious of finally being married to DH one of my biggests was the father/daughter dance. I'm a daddy's girl and at 13 my dad was shot and family was told he wouldn't make it. He's 56 and has been living with one lung with smoking 3 packs a day on top of it for 34 years. He has tons of other health issues but is the type of man who won't see a doctor and just deals with things. So having him there was always my dream but having pics and video of us dancing is priceless to me. I bawled like a baby and he was crying so much he couldn't speak, he just kept kissing my forehead.

From the beginning, the most important thing to us (besides each other) was being good and gracious hosts to our guests. Our budget was tight in some areas ($86 dress, DIY hair/makeup, DIY centerpieces/ceremony decor) to leave us room to buy everyone a fantastic dinner. MOST of our budget was spent on the food. If not for that, I think our entire wedding would have cost around $2,500!! It was worth every penny. People are STILL talking about the food whenever they see us, lol.

Aside from the ceremony and family, the DJ was very important to us, and she's really good. We will have a blast, I know it!

    Photos were also very important!

The venue I'm using has a beautiful chapel and seperate building for reception but all in one location. I looked at many venues but it was the chapel that did it for me. I personally feel that saying our vows is the most important part so having a beautiful chapel for this makes it perfect for me. http://www.northeastweddingchapel.com

The link shows pics of the chapel. Good luck in planning your wedding. I wish you the best.
