Most Realistic Result Brow Pencils?

AJ, on August 25, 2018 at 10:09 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 13
Long story short, I have alopecia areata and one of my eyebrows has decided the month before my wedding is the perfect time to switch things up after 20 years. It's almost entirely gone now, meanwhile the other brow is remaining its usual thick unruly self. I'm not exactly keen on shaving off my brows and drawing them both on, like a friend suggested... do you know of any brow pencils or other products that will give me a fairly realistic look that I can match to my other brow? I've been using a mix of eyeshadows to fill it in while I still have a little brow left, but I don't think it will have the best look if there's no hair and it's JUST these shadows on one side.

Anastasia Beverly Hills is pretty good Smiley smile
I haven’t tried Wunder Brow but from what I heard it’s pretty good. The only thing is if you got Wunder Brow you have to get the remover for it because it’s smudge waterproof and no other product can take it off.

Thank you so much. I never used anything on my brows before this so I honestly didn't even know there were products like these! From reviews it seems people prefer Anastasia, and it's cheaper, and...one of the reviews even talked about using it for alopecia! I better order now so I can practice, but it looks like you can make pretty natural looking brows with it!!! Perfect.

NYX micro brow is a dupe for ABH, it's so much cheaper and just as great. Shaving off both honestly will give you the best matching look so I would consider it. Don't do microblading so close to your wedding, it peels for weeks afterwards and you can't get soap or makeup on them until they're healed. You could look into it afterwards though to save you the headache.

I LOVE eyebrow products by Benefit. They pretty much have everything you could ever think of to create any type of look you are going for. In fact, in most Ulta stores, Benefit has a "brow bar," where you could talk to a specialist and they could recommend (and I'm sure demo on you), all the products you need. Also, there are millions of video tutorials on youtube about how to create the perfect eyebrow, and I have seen ones where the girls barely have eyebrows at all and then they create perfect, natural looking eyebrows. So it can be done! Good luck!

Nice! It's good to know it can be done...now let's just see If I can do it lol! If I didn't live in the middle of nowhere I would absolutely be going into an ULTA or Sephora for help with this. The nearest one is like 2 hours away though.

I'm so scared to shave my brows!!! And then maintain them...I'm bad enough at that when it's just plucking and trimming lol. I probably will look into microblading later and then I'm sure I'd be told to shave the other brow too. It's good to know about the healing process, that makes me feel way better about not being able to afford it before the wedding...no temptation Smiley smile

You can actually buy lacefront for your eyebrows. It gives you actual hairs. You can pluck then to match your naturals. They have tons of shape and color selections. and all you need is a bit of adhesive for a few days wear like eyelash extensions.

    A company to check out:

Also, you can get them microbladed, but I recommend doing that a while before the wedding so they heal.

If you like the tinted look, but you like your coins in your purse where they belong, like myself... you can head to walmart & get some Just for Men Beard dye, and apply like you would an eyebrow pencil. Let it sit, and you have brows for days.

I hope this helps. I have pretty thin brows and I'm obsessed with keeping them nice, but durable. Good luck!

I have very light blonde brows - not the same, I know, but I still do a lot of work to make them visible.. and I have tried a lot of products and the one I swear by is the cheap drug store option! I get the ELF brow kit - it looks like a little eye shadow compact and has a gel and powder. It's $3 at Target and comes in 3 different shades - light, med, dark. I use the light and it looks dark in the case but looks perfect on. I get compliments all the time Smiley smile

Spend the money if you can a find a really good brow artist.....tinting brow mapping and shaping can surprisingly do wonders....but I would have to agree that both ABH and Benefit have fantastic brow product lines.....go for thin pointed blonde or ash toned pencil follow up with applying a brow powder in the same color family as the pencil.....then benefit has the best fiber building product called gimme brow. Then you have to watch YouTube tutorials and practice practice practice, at night of coarse when you can just wash it off after your done. Everyone thinks my brows are full and natural and would be shocked to see what they really look like bare. Keep it natural nobody likes block brows lol

It's scary but honestly so many women (and men) draw on their eyebrows from scratch and you would never know! It doesn't have to be a crazy dramatic, drag queen Instagram brow. My brows completely suck and I have to pretty much form the shape myself but you would never know I look like an alien without them 😅 Good luck with whatever route you choose, and if you do decide to do microblading later on just make sure you do lots of research on the brow artist. You're going to look amazing on the big day no matter what. Here are my (90%) drawn on brows for reference. I use an elf brow kit and Essence make me brow gel which is a dupe for benefit's. Three dollars! Get it at target or ulta. I promise it's the same thing.
