Mother-daughter Dance?

Shannon, on September 3, 2019 at 7:48 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 5
Sorry if this has been posted already but I'd like to hear people's thoughts.

My mom is my best friend. She has also helped pay for A LOT of wedding stuff.

I was thinking of doing a mother-daughter dance. The song I envision is Meghan Trainor's "Mom". So I would have my FH and MIL dance first, then myself and my dad, and then have the DJ surprise ask my mom to join me on the floor. We can dance for a bit and then invite other moms out (my mom also doesn't like being the center of attention so that would ease that discomfort).

How did you do it if you did? Is there another song you'd suggest? Or a different sequence?

I love the idea! My dad passed away and I’ve been thinking about “tricking” my mom into a dance too! (She claims she doesn’t like the idea, but she claims a lot of things 😉.) I will probably use a Neil Diamond song because he’s her favorite-maybe think about a song she loves that you shared growing up.

I think that’s an awesome idea. I’ve seen this at a wedding before where the bride and her mom danced. Very sweet! Go for it!

I’m doing this also! I’m first dancing with my dad, my FH with my mom, then me & my mom. My mom is my best friend and her (mostly her) lol and my dad are paying for the wedding. We are dancing to Celine Dion “Because You Love Me”
