Mother of bride alternative names/phrases

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Unfortunately, since mother of the bride is a relationship and not just a title, I don't know that you're going to find a respectful alternative. Maybe just ask her to get ready with you, give her a corsage, and reserve a seat for her in the front row. I don't think you need to call her anything specific.

I’ve been thinking about it. I think I can pull it off this aunt I have in mind has shared a very special moment in my life. She stepped up when I was giving birth to my son. She was the only “grandma” in the room to experience him being born. So I think she’ll be perfect for this role. How does it sound that when we take bridal party photographs. Her role is titled “honorary M.O.B” (mother of bride) like when it’s embroidered on whatever clothing we decide on for pictures.
