Mother of Bride Attire shops?

Brooke, on April 15, 2020 at 4:28 PM Posted in Illinois Planning 0 6
Hi! I am wondering where to shop for mother of the bride and groom attire? We will have my mom, his mom, and my stepmom and they will all be wearing the same color, so I’m not sure where would be best to make sure they match! Anywhere on the Chicago area would be helpful as well!

The best I’ve seen so far (quality, look, price) is David’s Bridal.

There’s a line at Nordstrom that we love - my mom is younger so she’s actually having a prom dress to be altered to be more age-appropriate. But the line for my fiancé’s mom is Pisarro. Good luck!

My MIL bought her dress at David's Bridal. My mom bought her's at Lord and Taylor. I would check out anywhere that has evening gowns. They don't need to be called "mother of the bride" dresses. Honestly, I found a lot of them with those designations looked very matronly. I would try any major department store like Macy's, Nordstrom, etc. Bridal salons stock these kinds of dresses too.

You can try the major department stores and now eapeocally going into spring there's lots to choose from. My mom actually got heres from Ross, a discount store and my FMIL bought hers online but they are coordinating the dress colors.

I'm a fan of the "mothers" shopping at their favorite dress shop/department store for special occasion dresses. That helps them avoid the entire selection being the stereotypical MOB dresses, which are often too frumpy/dowdy for modern women and are one-time-use dresses. Anywhere they already like to shop will have dresses appropriate for weddings.
