Mother of the bride dress color

Unless they asked you, I would just let them wear what they want and feel comfortable in. But, I also know that some moms ask, because mine and my MIL did. Them both wearing gray would look nice. Your MIL could also wear navy. Our colors are navy and burnt orange and our moms have been looking at darker jewel tones, my MIL got a dress that's wine colored and my mom will probably go with a dark green or burgundy.

Did your mom ask you what color she should wear? If not, it's her choice what she picks. It's not likely that the moms will be in photos with the bridesmaids, so the colors don't matter much.

I think the moms should wear whatever color they feel beautiful in. I definitely don't think you should try to match them. Tell them what colors/vibe your scheme will be if they ask and let them be individual.

Our parents are walking the aisle at our ceremony and we plan to do photos with our moms and them as well as family shots with everyone (parents, grandparents, wedding party). My MOH is my sister and my one bridesmaid is a family friend I’ve been friends with since I was 6 and my mom has known since then and has spent a lot of time with so there will be pics together

View Quoted Comment That makes more sense. 🙂 You can definitely suggest dark gray to coordinate with your fiancé's mom. There are countless great options in both solid and metallic grays. If she's really opposed to that idea, there are some other colors that could work with the terracotta color (navy blue comes to mind and is a super popular for MOB).

Gray pairs well with virtually anything, so I think it's a good choice if you/ your MIL are concerned about looking cohesive. As for your mom, I think blush, peach, plum, or a shade of purple would be a pretty color for fall and go well with your color scheme.

So traditionally MOB picks what color she wants to wear and then MOG picks a different color.

Navy, hunter green, I like the above suggestion of plum. Any of those dark rich colors I think would go lovely with your color scheme.
My mom wore black and my mil wore black/cream combo.
