Mother of the Bride dresses

Lindseyb, on March 13, 2021 at 10:32 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10
Ladies! Where are your mothers finding dresses? My mom is in her 70s and stylish but everything I see online is too bejeweled, too old looking (think 90YO grandma) or cute but for younger moms. BHLDN has great stuff but the “mom” dresses are way too young for my mom’s age and style. Help! I’ve looked at Nordstrom, Macy’s, Bloomingdales.. preferably under $300. 🙏🏼👗

Hi Lindsey! Both our moms got their dresses at David’s Bridal. My mom’s dress had to be ordered online, but what was nice is if she tried it on and didn’t like it, there was no charge. They have pretty mother of the bride dresses for as low as $150 and have sales often. Good luck!! ❤️

My MIL got from Macy's and my Mom from Belk. Try to avoid "mother of the bride" labels - they tend to be more expensive and you're right - they're either old looking or super young looking (I think)

My mom and my mother-in-law got their dresses from Macy's. They have completely different taste, but were both able to find dresses that fit their style. My mom is in her forties and my mother-in-law is in her sixties. My mom also tried on some dresses using Prime Wardrobe, but didn't end up keeping any of them, but they have tons of options. I would also check out Azazie.

My MIL is getting her dress from Azazie (the same website my bridesmaids are getting their dresses)! They have a MOB section that has plenty of variety and definitely less than $300. She's ordered a couple try-at-home dresses ($10 each) and has found a couple she really loves! They also do custom sizing for the same price as off-the-rack.

That's where I bought my Mom's dress. Under $200 but the shipping fee was incredibly high.

My mother just found this beautiful dress at David’s bridal that turned out to be on super sale and she paid 21$ for it. Her friend thinks it’s too plain (all navy blue with sequins on the top) so she’s gonna keep looking w her to see if she can find anything else she really loves. Pretty sure they are going to check out Macy’s.

Both our moms got theirs at Dillards. My MIL's was fully beaded and long, my mom's was simpler, long and some really interesting lace. We really loved their selections and I got my BM dresses their too!
