I am doing something similar with my daughter. Our song is "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri. We also liked the idea of "The Mom Song" by Meghan Trainor. It isn't slow. It's really catchy.

My mom and I's song had been "You can't loose me" by Faith Hill since I was very little. I am NOT a country fan but it means a lot to her and it's very cute.

My mom and I are doing our dance to a mix of 2 different songs (to help break up the sappy-ness because we will both be crying. Slow song will either be Momma's Song by Carrie Underwood or it will be Candle in the Wind by Elton John, then it will pick up speed to a humorous Another One Bites the Dust (it's our side joke for 15yrs)
