mother/son dances. who decides?

FH and his mom decided together (last night actually). FMIL actually suggested it, and FH thought a little more about it and decided that he agreed it was a good one.

We've made all the decisions for the wedding, so I guess everyone just assumed we would pick the songs for the dances. If they had suggested something we would have considered it, but neither of them are going to argue with us about it regardless.

For the father/daughter dance I picked a song but sent it to my dad to listen too to make sure he liked it. For the Mother/Son song we have FMIL the choice. We wanted wanted to make sure she feels apart of the whole process.

None of our parents even asked-- we picked one song for F/D M/S and both pairs danced. I think your FMIL is a little stressed and probably wising the MOG had more to do in the wedding.

FH and his mom decided together. If you guys want to keep it a secret she should respect that.

I'm hoping that FH and FMIL will pick a song together, but my fingers and toes are crossed that can agree on one...

Since you were planning on having it a secret until the dance itself she should respect that, you could explain to her that it's also a secret from your Dad for your father/daughter dance, maybe she'll be more understanding and not feel like she's being let out?

FH picked the song for their dance. My dad is making me pick the song "it's your wedding, pick what you want to dance to" and then we are also having a mother daughter dance and we both agreed on the same song!
