Motivation to shed

Dora, on August 10, 2017 at 3:06 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 6

It's obvious we all want to look our absolute best for our weddings. How did y'all stay motivated and focused besides wanting to fit in the dress. I want to lose some weight before looking for my wedding dress! Any advice I will take I know diet and exercise always works.

I tell you what, wearing your ring to the gym helps you stay motivated! Trust me, the closer the date gets, you're going to have this voice in your head that's telling you to get it together. I've always been a fitness junkie, but the closer the date gets for me, I'm killing it at the gym.

Just get started and you'll eventually get there!

Linds I feel the same. Although I only want/need to lose the 15lbs I put on getting "comfortable" lol I still need to get motivated. Lets get going Date twin! I am going dress shopping tomorrow so hopefully that will get my head in the game.

My mom made me buy a dress too small. Don't do it. I've been miserable. I didnt want to lose weight. I bought my dress the week before Christmas and seeing christmas pictures, I was the heaviest I've ever been. I hit the gym 3x a week. When the dress arrived in April it fit. I hit the gym 5x a week. In June, I gained too much muscle and it didn't fit. I had only been working out and not watching what I ate. I used my fit bit the entire time to make sure I got 10,000 steps and to track my workouts. In June I used it to track calories. I had my first fitting Monday and it fit. I have used my fit bit before to lose weight and it has worked.

I think you need to find motivation beyond "wedding dress." That's such a temporary goal.

You have to view it more as a lifestyle change, and sometimes that takes a lot of time.

For me, motivation wasn't "fitting in the dress." For me, motivation to workout multiple times per week because it helped me feel better mentally. The fitness and inches just came with it. Maybe the dress isn't *enough*.

My initial motivation was for the dress. My next motivation was I don't want to be overweight in the future and feel sluggish anymore. My next next motivation was, wearing a bikini on our honeymoon!! Looked at old pics of when we went on vacation and I said wow I was at my healthiest weight back then. Try and remember a time when you felt your best body-wise, dig up some photos and conceptualize it! Then make it happen!

Looking at the wedding day countdown on WW, then considering what amount of weight lost per week is healthy, prompts me to opt for the kale salad over the beef chow fun.
