Moved nuptials

What are some ideas to honor your original wedding date? We’re not getting married on our OG date anymore, but I'd like to still have a romantic day.

I’ve been pretty down in the dumps lately (along with everyone else) and I really think my attitude will change and my excitement to start planning will come back once the original date will pass. I saw my sister’s energy shift dramatically once her OG date was behind her. The lead up to it, it’s pretty brutal at times though, especially since we moved the date back in July and we were originally planning to get married in October. I just want to get passed the date! It’s almost like a bittersweet feeling, knowing I found The One, but we moved the goal post.

Go someplace special to the two of you. Even if you don't want to travel, get a hotel room and do something romantic and make the day all about the two of you. Get a couples massage, room-service, go all out.

Me and my FH took engagement photos (finally) and we called them our “would-be wedding day photos”. Then we had date night after the photos were done. It was a beautiful day outside (70degrees) and I kept getting sad at how nice it was outside but he kept me distracted

My fiance and I planned a weekend getaway with a few friends to the destination where our wedding will be for our original date! We did wine tasting, went to a few of our favorite restaurants, and spent time with friends. I also put together a gift basket for him that had all kinds of COVID themed mugs, wine glasses, snacks, cake topper, a card, etc. We also tried to support our vendors in any way we could: we went to our venue's restaurant for lunch on our original date, bought a mini cake from our cake baker for my fiance and I to share, bought a flower arrangement from our florist, etc. We ended up really looking forward to our original date with all the fun plans we had! It truly does get easier once the original date has passed.

Whatever you choose to do, make it a special day! Whether it's a weekend getaway, or a date night out in your town, or a movie night in, or a spa day with friends - make it a day you look forward to and build some great memories!

Definitely celebrate!! Our date was suppose to be July 4th this year and we postponed until July 3rd 2021. On the 4th, we rented boats with most of our wedding party and had a great time! And I agree, once that date actually passed and we confirmed all our new plans I felt 100x better. Make the most of your OG date but know that the best is yet to come!

I love the idea of dressing up and doing a photoshoot on your original date! a bonus is that you get more professional photos together!
