Moving floral pieces from ceremony to reception

Sarah, on May 8, 2018 at 1:01 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 6
Hi everyone!

We we are having floral garland built out along our gazebo arch that will be moved to our sweetheart table between ceremony and reception.

We are looking into having 4 tall vase centerpieces, but they’re pretty costly ($150 each). In order to justify the cost of splurging for these 4 pieces, FH and I were debating having them staggered along the ceremony aisle for some added floral and to get more use out of them. But I’m not seeing any visual examples out there of this. Do y’all have any you could share?

For reference, here are the pictures of the centerpieces we are debating (but different color flowers), and a view of our ceremony location (will have white folding chairs on each side).

I guess our biggest concern is them falling over or it not looking nice? 🤷🏼‍♀️

thanks in advance for the inspiration!

I don't have all my pictures back yet but we had flowers in ceramic jugs at the ceremony and then our DOC moved them into the reception space during cocktail hour. It worked out fine.

Yes we would have our DOC move them as well. My biggest worry is them tipping over from being so tall and narrow? Or a guest stepping out into the aisle and knocking it over? Maybe the clear ones would be heavy enough to not do that? I guess I could ask my florist her opinion as well... just thinking out loud 🤔

    glad yours worked out fine!

There are lots of pics online of tall vase aisle decor. Ask your florist how they transport the vases.

It depends on how far apart the ceremony and reception are. If they are at the same venue, they can just be carried individually. If they have to be transported be vehicle, you will want to have a container designed like a wine or liquor box with dividers to keep the vases separate and add some weight to the box to counter balance the top heavy florals. You can do that by adding small bean bags to the box around the base of the vases so you don't make a mess of the vases with sand etc.

We are doing something similar and the DOC will move them during the cocktail hour before we enter the reception room.

Thank you for these! I think I must have been looking up the wrong search terms on Pinterest... it was showing stuff to hang on chairs but not tall vases!

Our reception is in a different building but on the same hotel grounds as the ceremony garden, about a 3 min or so walk... hoping they can carry them individually! Thank you so much for the tips!

Awesome, I'm hoping this is the way we can go! Might as well get some more use out of them!
