Moving Forward with ny Weddings 2020

Queen Cone, on June 12, 2020 at 1:11 PM Posted in New York Planning 1 12
Anyone else moving forward with their wedding in NY this year or am I the only one? haha

I’ve posted similar discussions before- just curious what your experience is like if you haven’t postponed!

I have been seeing people doing micro weddings, or planning for outside celebrations.

    Good luck!

We're Aug 30th in LI and moving foward as planned. Our venue is extremely hopeful based on the steps the govenor is making- ie: graduations outdoors up to 150 ppl in June, pools and parks opening, etc. Trying to stay positive and hopeful, especially since NY has decreased our numbers so significantly and continue to do so, even with all the protesting and stuff.

Thats great!! i think so too. were heading in the right direction. my venue hasnt cancelled any weddings from august 1st going forward so theyre hopeful too. im just hoping restrictions wont be too crazy because the CDC guidelines seem pretty fair to me. i hope ny goes along with them.

Was just wondering if anyone in this feed is still holding on to their August wedding date? We’re August 22 but our venue still has no answers 😞
It seems everyone I know that had August weddings has postponed or cancelled. The venue said none of their August weddings have cancelled yet

I think they entered phase 4 along with mid hudson today right? i saw an email from local district leader that said outdoor gatherings of 50 will be allowed and indoor 33% capacity for religious gatherings only. it also said some food services not previously opened will be allowed but doesnt specifiy. did your venue say if they were expecting any new information from local government?

I think we’re entering phase 4 tomorrow. I’m going to call them again the end of this week and see if they have any new information.
We’re totally okay with cutting our guest list down to 50, as long as they cut the cost because we had a package deal that included 100 people.

I’m just becoming extremely stressed with no answers being that our wedding is less than 2 months away lol

I hear you! my venue said theyre not worrying about the minimum food/bevg cost right now and if were only allowed 50 then we only pay 50. we originally promised 100 too. i think ur venue will do the same. i know august is soon, did u send invites already?

Yes! I sent them a few weeks ago in hopes that everything would go according to plan.
But I feel everyone will be understanding if I have to call people to “uninvite” them.
