We were originally scheduled for 4/25/2020, that didn't happen moved to 9/26/2020 and then to 4/3/2021. As January is approaching we find ourselves gearing up to move to our 4th wedding date. It is beyond depressing. People ask us constantly what is going on and we can't answer them. We have no idea.

We live in NJ and the restrictions are complicated and make zero sense when reviewing them and they change all the time. We thought about scaling down but we made deposits that we would lose if we cancelled vendors or changed venues. It makes the whole concept of wedding planning, just awful.

We understand "safety", this post is for people who are making the same difficult decision to move their wedding for the 2nd or 3rd time because we completely understand the struggle.

My wedding is 4/17/21 and we’re waiting to find out if our venue will be postponed or canceled. The waiting game is torture. We also want to downsize, but we would lose so much money on vendors. The whole situation is disheartening.

Your friend is an asshole. No one cares about a Sunday wedding. Responsible adults can take time off and if they are traveling, they’d take Friday or Monday off anyway. I changed my date for the 3rd time and had no choice but a Sunday and all my friends couldn’t care less about a Sunday, people are still going to come and enjoy celebrating your big day. And if they don’t because it’s a Sunday, they probably weren’t worth having there anyway and thats more money saved for you! 😘

HAHAHA you’re right, he IS AN ASSHOLE. He’s normally a really nice and positive person, so my fiancé and I asked him for his thoughts and thought he would be supportive. NOPE. We have always respected and trusted this guy, so when he said all this negative stuff, it made me worried that EVERYONE must feel the same way as him.
I think he just...has never planned a wedding before and didn’t realize there’s thousands of dollars at stake, and this whole wedding has been such an awful roller coaster of stress, and I feel pressured to please everyone.

Thank you for all of your kind and encouraging words, I feel a lot better about having a Sunday wedding now!! And I’m glad the people in your life are being supportive about your Sunday wedding!

    Jane,

I completely understand. We are in the same situation. I'm sad to have to do this again and again and again. We thought of downsizing too but we would lose so much money canceling.

You're not the only one! Our original wedding date was September 19, 2020. Since our wedding was set to take place in Long Island New York and not here in Florida where we live, we had to postpone it to April 24, 2021 but then there were no certainty on when NY is going to open up and is cutting too close and we still have so much to take care of, we decided to move it again on July 16, 2021 (unfortunately there's no more Saturdays available so we are stuck on a Friday night but we're absolutely ok with it.) Little did everyone knew that we actually did a beach minimony on our original wedding date here in Florida. So the July one would be renewing of vows and big reception. We can't wait to celebrate it with our family and friends. I hope this would be the last time we would have to move this, otherwise we may just cancel and say goodbye to all $$$ spent. We're praying that this COVID will soon be over and everyone can have a happy, normal life. All the best to all of us affected by this pandemic! Smiley heart
