Moving on to another wedding florist...

Rachel, on September 27, 2020 at 10:48 PM Posted in Planning 0 6
Well, ladies, while I was really excited to work with the florist I had posted about previously, I decided to move on and contact other options. I understand my wedding date being a ways away and I’m completely understanding, but it has been over a week since I was told via phone that I would be sent a proposal for our date and I even tried following up earlier this week and I received no response. Like I said in my prior post, I didn’t really get a great vibe from the owner when I spoke with her on the phone and it seemed like she was semi blowing me off and didn’t seem overly excited to discuss details. I know that wedding season is always “on” and there are other events going in between that cause vendors to be busy, not to mention COVID things as well, so I am completely understanding and patient. I just didn’t feel like a great connection. I have another phone consultation scheduled for Wednesday with a larger flower company and I’m feeling much more optimistic that this will go well. Thanks for the support from you all!

Fingers crossed that the next one goes well for you!

I started planning and booking vendors 2+ years out and there were some that I definitely got weird vibes from, regardless of response time. So while I think vendors need to be granted some extra time right now, if you're not meshing well with someone, it's worth checking out other options for sure.

My florist is seriously a rockstar. She's somehow managing her business while helping her daughter with school and taking care of a baby.

I will say that she put together a proposal right away that was pretty detailed, but we didn't actually have our consultation until a few weeks ago. She had just gotten new fall flowers in, and has a good sense of what's going to be available and what's not with COVID, so it was perfect timing.

She also introduced me to toffee roses, which I am now obsessed with!

Thanks for the kind words! I agree, I think it comes down to your gut feeling when it comes to vendors and what type of vibes they give you when you contact them, speak with them, etc. I guess I just got this “You're not that important because your wedding is going to be small and it’s 2 years away” attitude from her. Their flowers were really pretty, but there are better options out there that will give beautiful flowers AND service!

FIngers crossed! I agree with you, if you don't get that "vibe" from one vendor, move onto the next. You're always better for it in the long run.

Completely agree with you, if I am not vibing with the vendor I would choose a new one. Good luck with the new one!
