MUA/Hair Trial Disappointment What To Do? Anyone ever do their own makeup?

I spent $210 on my hair and makeup trial yesterday only to be extremely disappointed. "magical" coverage the mua said it would. An hour after she left some of the airbrush had "magically" disappeared revealing the broken capillaries around my nose that I am so self-conscious of. My own makeup does a better job of covering and staying put (I use very high quality expensive makeup). The hair trial, in my opinion, was a disaster. I showed the stylist some inspiration pics (side style, curled, with some trendy twists) - all that was achieved were some curls that came out in an hour to the side, the back looked like a hot mess, sloppy. No twists. The hair stylist called it a "rough draft." For $85 tip, I was not expecting "a rough draft." With the wedding in 2 1/2 months, should I scramble to find someone else? I really can't afford to throw money away on another "trial." DIY hair & makeup?

That's awesome! I'm so glad you called them. I'm excited to see your new trial pics. Smiley smile Is it today?

I'm sorry but I am completely blown away by sticker shock right now, you paid $210 for a trial?! $85 tip?! Was that tip included in the trial price or was that separate from the $210?

If the MUA is part of a chain, definitely reach out to management, express your complaints and concerns and see if they will give you another trial with a different MUA, especially for the price you paid!

I'm glad they're making it right for you. I think $210 and an $85 tip is a lot. Kind of concerned you're getting the same MUA as you didn't like what she did the first time, and it's difficult to tell the one who did it you didn't like it and shouldn't you have used primer? Don't want to accidentally insult the one who is making you look beautiful on your big day. Here's hoping it goes great!

I had a similar experience with my airbrush makeup trial... didn't give me coverage that I needed just like you. Currently looking into finding someone else :-/
