For people who love music, let’s geek out over wedding tunes! What vibe do you want on the dance floor? What favorite songs do you absolutely have to work in??
And especially, for those of us who listen to any kind of remotely underground genres or stuff not typically played at weddings, how will you reflect that vibe in your wedding while also still giving the older/more traditional guests their Motown classics?
I’m the kind of girl who growing up, when I imagined my wedding, my fantasies always involved people dancing to bangers 🙌 I always secretly wanted to be a DJ but am too much of an introvert. The way I see it, this is my big chance to put together the playlist of my dreams!
does anyone (especially those w similar tastes) have any thoughts on what hard rock and/or hip hop songs are best for weddings and what context to play them in? When we first make our entrance, we are going to have the DJ play the first few verses of the Ramones “Blitzkreig Bop” and then segue into Method Man & Mary J Blige “You’re All I need” right as we walk out. I also love Metallica and would like to play one of their less heavy instrumental songs at some point (Orion). Is during dinner or cocktail hour a good time to do stuff like that?
