Now that I have my timeline taking care of what kind of songs do you have for dinner/reception or open dance?
My family is into country music but my fiancé isn’t fond of it he’s more into rock any ideas?
I have a lot of country music so far we just need more songs that are pop and rock to even the genre out ☺️

    Usually music played during this time is just soft background music. Your DJ should be able to help you.

    Same situation here. I love country, fiance is not a fan but will listen anyway because I love it so much. He's into rock too. For our dinner music, we chose a few of our favorite songs and will ask the DJ to play a good mix of his choosing. We did something similar with the dance music and will have him feel the crowd and play what he thinks will get them on the dance floor.

    Our DJ played "dinner music" while people ate and once it was time to get people up and dancing he changed over to songs that were more popular. We worked with him on some that we wanted to hear, but he chose the rest. This is their profession so they should be able to help you with this. Ask for a list of their popular songs for weddings that they use.

    That seems to be pretty common. Just talk to the dj and discuss needing a variety of genres, which most are used to working with. They play music how the crowd responds.

    Dinner music is often suggested to be instrumental or old standards since they are more subdued.
