It depends on what type of wedding she is planning. Something small and intimate, sure!

She could do that at a restaurant

She can probably find a restaurant with a private room to hold the reception in.

The dress is going to be a hurdle, but shoppingvsomehqere that has a Rush option or off the rack sales could work, or somewhere like modcloth for a less formal option. A restaurant venue may be a problem because many are closed after one of the biggest and messiest nights of the year. She gets on those two things immediately .

I know someone who got engaged in late July and got married in early October. She had a full blown wedding, she cut some corners for financial reasons but I don't think she had to for most things. Some vendors like photographer and such might be booked but since it's January they won't be as booked as during "wedding season"

    Good luck!

She can do it, but it is going to be very rushed and a lot of places charge more for new years weddings and a lot of things may already be booked

Is anything open in your area on January 1st? Where I am, it's a holiday. Some restaurants are open, but most are closed, or they don't open until 5 or 6 at night. Shem also may not be able to get an officiant for that day.

That is probably a really popular date so while not impossible, she may not get everything her heart is set on. Is there a reason she's rushing it? Personally I wanted to enjoy the engagement and did not want to rush the wedding, but this is also my second trip so maybe I wanted to enjoy what I didn't do last go around.

I recommend BHLDN to look into for dresses--I got mine in three days after ordering.

I know someone that got engaged late July and got married September 9th. It was a pretty wedding and it was at a hotel on the beach. I wouldn't recommend it but if that's what she wants!

I agree, I think its do-able! She can see if bridal shops are having sample sales, or if they're willing to sell her a sample, which would give time for alterations. Or check the dresses on Azazie, they're so pretty! And I agree that she could find a restaurant that could rent out a room. Where I live, most restaurants are open on Jan 1st but are so slow, so that's a good option. I feel like the night before would be harder to book and more expensive, but the 1st might not be so bad. Keep us posted!
