My dad doesn’t want to come

So long story short my dad is a narcissist and hates my whole family (mostly his parents and anyone who associates with them). He hasn’t talked to them in almost 4 years so when I told him I was getting married he threw a huge tantrum about how he doesn’t think it’s a good idea for him to go and he will just be drama and my stepdad should “have the honors” and all this crap. Growing up he was my best friend and even though we had a bit of a falling out when I turned 17, I still love him and care about him. I really wanted him to be at my wedding but I don’t want to force him if he doesn’t think he can behave himself for my sake. I’m not sure what I should do at this point, I feel really defeated and heartbroken that he doesn’t even want to put the effort in to be cordial for his only daughters big day. I don’t want drama but I also don’t want to regret him missing out forever...
