My DIY Favors - Wine Glass Charms!

Caroline, on February 29, 2012 at 12:47 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 33

Hey WW! Thought I would share my DIY wedding favors. I have sat down to make these on 2 occasions now - I just pop on some wedding shows and get to it! - and so far have 35 sets made. Only 90 sets left to go!

I actually made these pretty inexpensively - I purchased the rings and charms from ebay and had all of the beads in my craft supply already. I used cardstock to make the card and hole punched the holes and used yarn from my stash to tie them together. They will cost me about 50 cents per set - which I think is great. Everyone will also receive a homemade sugar cookie that my grandma and her sisters are making.

The charms tie in with our theme and I wish the fleur de lis were a little larger, but I still think they work.

I love them and hope that people will take them home!

Thanks for letting me share!

Thanks everyone! I am so thrilled y'all think they are cute! Smiley smile

Stacy S - I found the charms on ebay and I thought they were pretty cheap - but I was purchasing a large amount.

    I used - http://www.ebay.com/sch/beadsmarket/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686

    and - http://www.ebay.com/sch/logolots2010/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686

The shipping took a little time but I am pretty happy with what I got. a few of the charms are a broken - but luckily I ordered more than I needed. I plan to tally up all the broken ones to see if I need to ask for some money back.

Please do! Let me know if you need any help. I am having a lot of fun making them and might even have a pizza party for my girlfriends to get together and help me finish. Everyone I have showed them to so far, LOVES THEM. so I think they could be a big hit for you. I love that they are so easy to tie into the theme because the charm options are endless!

I was going to do this as my favor when I was doing a beach wedding...I found them pretty cheap with starfish/shells/dolphins charms and was just going to add wedding color beads (they came with clear beads) but now I'm having a fall wedding so I'm selling my beach wine charms and have not decided what I'm doing as a wedding favor. They are very cute!

You could do leaf charms, or crescent moon, or you could go with more traditional wedding items like hearts (I found a WIDE variety of hearts) or bells... there is a bunch of fun stuff on ebay.

Did you use a normal hole punch or a smaller one? and if a smaller what where did you get it?

Awesome! That is ONE favor I'd love to have, except for the edible ones :-)
