@Kayla so you can buy these battery operated lights (or the tealight candles) and I just tied them to ribbon and to the metal frame that comes with the lantern, so picture it sort of dangling on the inside of the ball.. the effect is sort of a faint warm light flickering inside... if your room is dark it'll show more! Ill try to get a pic in the dark to show you Smiley smile

@Deborah- I am SO in love with these and we have wedding dates SO close to eachother- I LOVE that (so close to being date twins)!!! Smiley smile So, they are on the inside of the lanterns and you got them in yourself? WOW- I am going to try this weekend! Wish me luck- Our reception will be in the evening and the dance floor dim so these would be perfect- just to figure out storage until October... The things brides will do Smiley smile

@Kayla I know! haha i already warned my mom she's going to be stuck storing all my DIY's because my tiny apartment can't handle it. Didn't even see we are almost date twins! Yay!! Good luck trying these, they get easier as you go ans before you know it you will be bunching 5-8 filters at one time and gluing them all! (goes way faster haha). Show me pics! and yes the lanterns have openings at the top and bottom where you insert the metal frame - here's a pic to show you better! I just used whatever tulle ribbon I had

I love them, they look awesome! Hanging the LED tealight inside is a great idea, too. It looks so pretty all lit up like that. Your dance floor will look magical!

Those look amazing - like others I'm now tempted to try and find somewhere to fit them! I've seen smaller ones done too with cupcake cases. So tempted now!

Well done, and thanks for sharing! :-)

How big was the lantern and how many filters did it take to cover it?

They really do look like carnations!

Make sure to store them in a dry place so dampness doesn't make them go limp.

Will you cover them to keep dust off them for the next 7 months?
