I just got the call from the bridal salon 20 minutes ago that my dress came in today 3 MONTHS EARLIER THAN EXPECTED!!!!!! OMG I have some weight to loose before I want to do the alterations on it...need to not go into the salon for a month at least...but knowing it's sitting there I'm already dying to see it...I'm so torn Smiley sad

Yeah I was in ASAP when my dress came in...mine is a lace up corset back so I fit in it but if I loose a few pounds it will still fit great. Maybe just wait it out a little bit so you can see how it is and your progress Smiley smile

I'm going to call them tomorrow and see if I can't put off my first fitting until next month..give me more time to loose a few lbs. Mine is a lace up as well so I'm sure I would fit it now...I just want to fit it better lol

You should go try it on and then move your fitting accordingly...my wedding dress came in early and when I went to pick it up the alterations department asked if I wanted to try it on. I did and surprisingly enough it fit and zipped all the way up. Originally the dress was not suppose to fit and they were going to have to let out the seams but when I tried it on it fit...tight...but it fit. Go try it on! And like Stacie said some stores will not hold your dress till its time for alterations so you should really go in.

I called the salon this afternoon...I explained to them that my budget is that I have so much each month for wedding expenses not savings and I had budgeted to pay off the dress between Mar and Apr when they had told me it would be in...They were really good about it and are storing it at the store for me until my first fitting on Apr 13th. I'll take the dress with me that day and start alterations some time in May which I will take the dress into them for. I am so thankful they are being so understanding.

That's great! I just bought my dress on Saturday, and even though I'm not getting married for another 14 months, I was told that I wouldn't see my dress until a month before the wedding. Should I insist that I take the dress when it comes in? I paid for it in full when I picked it out. I don't want to have it hang there until a month before the wedding. What if alterations take longer than that? I'd feel safer having it hang in my closet and transporting it to the store when the alterations are to be done.

I feel the same way. Mine came yesterday about a month early. I'm going to go pick it up but not worry about alterations until about May. My wedding is a week before yours. I say go get it and try it on. That will probably motivate you like nothing else.

We ordered it early Oct. and we were told at that point to expect it to arrive mid to late Apr....so you can see my surprise when I get "the call" 3 months early...if they can start the alterations in Apr then I'm ok with it continuing to stay at the store obviously but if they wont be starting alterations for another month I will be taking the dress with me... I just don't see why my dress has to sit in the store when it's paid for in full..

That's so exciting Kiera!! & that's awesome the store is super understanding.

My dress is paid in full and is currently residing in the bridal salon.. I'd rather it there than in a closet in my house were FH could accidentally see it.

I KNOW how it will fit though b/c I am the same size as I was beginning of Nov when my mom and sister were visiting and we went to the salon...I tried on the sample (which is the same size as the one we ordered)...I'm just going to buckle down over the next 3 months and get down closer to what I want to be on my day so that I can feel that awesome feeling of needing to have the dress taken in haha

That's awesome! I got an e-mail yesterday saying mine was in already- Over 5 months ahead of what they told me! They are shipping it to me directly so I'll have it next week Smiley laugh Isn't it nice when vendors deliver ahead of schedule?
