Hey everyone. My dress came in! And I was excited but...I'm actually really upset. I know I gained weight, but I didn't think this much. I probably gained about 10 pounds and stopped working out. I am currently in the process of eating healthier again and working out. However, my wedding is March 31st and my first alterations appointment is February 6th. She did say that more can be taken in even after the first alterations appointment, but I'm not sure if in two 1/2ish months I can pull off this much weight loss. Both dresses are of the same size and nothing is different - except the dress was hemmed by the designer to match my height before it came to the store so length was chopped off. She said the sample dress was stretched out from all the try ons from the other brides, but I still feel like a busted can of biscuits. Originally, a lot had to be taken in in the hip area and a little in the waist, and now there is no extra material and no clips had to be used! It might even have to be let out a little if I don't lose this weight. I was in complete shock. Could the sample have stretched out that much?? Blah, I'm so upset and I tried making myself happy by trying on some accessories I liked, but I still felt like complete crap. It doesn't even feel like the same dress. I'm not here to fish for compliments, I just need some motivation and to see if in two months I can shed some pounds.

Eat healthy, drink lots of water and try to get in some more movement like more walking or aerobics and the weight should come right off. Also lift weights when you can.

I feel you, my wedding is in march and I picked up my dress a few weeks ago and it was pretty snug in the back. The holidays effect us all. Drink a ton of water, limit your carbs and salt. I've been going to the gym every day, so get active! We can do this!!

This happened to me, but my dress came in much earlier, so I had several months to lose the weight. My dress didn't even zip when it came in and by the time alterations started, my dress a dually needed to be taken in.

It's hard to tell since you haven't posted a back view of the dress, but does it zip? It looks like it's snug and needs to be let out, bit that it ripped all the way. Either way, do what you can. Maybe you'll lose enough that the dress will fit much better by February and maybe you won't. Just focus on eating healthy and upping your exercise routine a little. First case scenario, you won't loose all ten pounds, but you'll lose a little and the seamstress won't have to let it out as much. It's okay. Don't beat yourself up.

Sorry! I'm sure it's disheartening that the first time you got to try on YOUR dress it didn't fit/look the same. First, store sample dresses are DEFINITELY stretched. The dress daughter tried on was a size 10, and they had to clip a good 2" in the back (so, a total of FOUR INCHES too big in the waist). But, she measured a perfect size 10, so that's what we agreed to order. Her dress arrived and she tried it on last Saturday.... It fits perfectly! So, only due to "stretching" the sample was four inches bigger than it should have been.... Second, as a Weight Watchers "lifer" for more than 30-years, with a healthy diet and moderate exercise (e.g., fast walking for 30-minutes, most days), most people can pretty easily lose 10 lbs in two months. Lots of great suggestions in pp. Drink water like crazy, and cut out caloric beverages (if you've been drinking alcohol or soda -- even diet -- that alone will likely make a big difference). Eat a balanced diet heavy in fruit, veggies and lean protein. Keep a close eye on salt & sugar. Odds are you'll see a big difference in a week or two of eating like that (much less bloat), and once you have a little success you'll feel so much better you'll likely have a lot of motivation to keep it up for a few more weeks till you're where you want to be and the dress looks FABULOUS! Third, even if you decide not to lose an ounce, alterations can make your dress looks great on you just the way you are. Good luck -- you've got this! Smiley heart

It doesn't look as tight as you probably think, if you stay focused you can absolutely lose enough weight in 2 months for it to fit perfectly. I'm a huge advocate for calorie counting, I lost 30 pounds and have maintained it within 3-5 pounds for 3 years by watching my calories. I don't stress about carbs or fat, just that I'm not eating more calories than I'm burning (for weightloss you'll want to burn more than you eat). I'd recommend a site like myfitnesspal and use it honestly. Log every item you ingest, I even use mine to track water intake. Good luck!

You can totally do it!! The most important thing is actually eating, don't skip meals. Just make sure you are eating whole foods. Close to me there is a meal prep service that shows online the items you can order. Foods like these would be great for you to eat and it will make a difference!! https://getnakedfoods.com/

Don’t be discouraged! 2 months is def enough time for 10 pounds but you will need to be very disciplined for the time being. I’m in the same situation. My wedding is March 11th, and while my dress fits - I want to be smaller and have it taken in. I’ve lost 15 pounds in about 5 week an hour of cardio everyday, no soda/alcohol, and protein based eating! You can do it!!

Yes, it does thank god. She just needed some help from some girl, ha! But it wasn't a huge struggle really.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the feedback. I don't think it looks as bad as I think. Even if I don't lose as much as I would like, I can still get it taken out a little and it will still look nice I think Smiley smile.

The dress looks stunning in all of the photos, but I can understand your disappoint. I'm dreading trying on my dress next weekend at an alterations appointment for the same reason!

I'd recommend a 30-day cleanse through Isagenix, if you're looking for a healthy food regime to get you into a better spot. It's super easy and as long as you follow the plan, you'll see results.

I am in the exact same boat. I honestly couldn't believe the difference even 5lb could make. Mine buttoned when I bought it and wont now. I wanted to cry when my seamstress told me; letting it out may help, but thats not necessarily what you want to hear. I have found changing my eating habits are helping the most (holidays/being sick has kept me from going to the gym consistently over the last few weeks) and I'm down 2lbs in 2 weeks. So I don't think 10lb by March is achievable, you will just have to commit to it. BTW, I love your dress, it looks great on you, snug or not.

Girl I'm the same way. Eat healthy - lots of protein and veggies. Cut carbs and sugar and alcohol as much as possible and lots of working out. This sounds crazy, but 10-ish weeks to go might be a blessing in disguise. It's much easier to stay on weight loss & fitness tracks with short term goals!
