So, I got my dress in last week, but didn't really try it on. I tried it on last night and the lace is so damn itchy I cannot stand it. It not only itches my body, it itches my arms on the outside when I put them down. I dont know what to do, but from the style I dont think I can put a layer of...

So, I got my dress in last week, but didn't really try it on. I tried it on last night and the lace is so damn itchy I cannot stand it. It not only itches my body, it itches my arms on the outside when I put them down. I dont know what to do, but from the style I dont think I can put a layer of anything between the lace and me.

ETA: I removed the pics of the dress since apparently I bought a knockoff. ANY IDEAS? Argghh, I love it, but may have to use a different one!!

@WED1819, you're right it wouldn't be, but I do have another dress if this one doesn't soften up. Then I can just give this one away, and it might not bother someone else's skin as much as mine.

Maybe you can have your seamstress lay a very fine mesh over it, at least around the arms? for example the dress I bought has an illusion neckline, the mesh is so fine you can't see it even though it doesn't match my skin perfectly. I think its a super soft tulle

Please put the pics back up. I would agree with pp to have the dress cleaned. It helped with mine. If you need it altered speak with your seamstress about the issue they may have a solution.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm all for dupes! Who cares if it's not name brand lol. I have knock off LV and knock off birkenstocks. Maybe try meeting with a seamstress and see what she says? They may could put some frantic over the lace where it's itching and something under the dress

When i did dance and we use this material they used to tell us to put lotion on it helps soothe the itching other than that just try and see what happens

Post the pic again. Even if it is a knockoff, all that really matters is how it looks and feels on you.if you repost the dress maybe we can give you suggestions.

@Barton being okay with buying something that is a result of trademark infringement (a crime) isn't something you should brag about.

@LaGrosera most knock offs have something on them that separates them from the real deal and makes them legal. I do my research before purchasing. Now I'll get back to toting my fake LV that I paid $209 for :-)

I would definitely take it to a dry cleaners or a seamstress and see what they can do with it. I'm sure it's still beautiful regardless of the name on the price tag Smiley smile
