My fiancé(e) and I are getting help paying for the wedding - true or false?

True, my parents are paying for roughly 75%. I had no idea they would be contributing until after we got engaged, I assumed we'd be on our own.

My parents paid for the dress, but all other expenses are on us at present.

False! my fiancé and i are using our own money for EVERYTHING. that’s why our budget is quite low. we don’t really expect help since his family is definitely comfortable with money but i’d feel bad for asking and my family barely has any money so i don’t expect them to help at all!

True. Likely my parents are pitching in 2/3 of the cost and my FH parents are paying for some as well. Because of this we are able to have our dream wedding

True! Both of our parents gave us a really good gift that was put towards wedding expenses which was a huge help. My parents also paid for my wedding dress.

True. My parents originally agreed to cover a certain percentage of the wedding, but that ended up being a little complicated. Instead they are just covering catering, the dress, and flowers and we are covering the rest.

First off, best GIF to use! Haha. second, some. Which I appreciate, but damn weddings are costly. Now that I'm more aware, I wish I would have looked at more venue options. A place with a kitchen, or at least warming oven and fridge, that would give us more opportunity to bring our own food and save money, a place that doesn't require a bartender (which is nowhere except a place not meant to be a venue. Lol) I knew from a young age, my parents wouldn't help out much. We have been planning a long engagement and buying things here and there, we are still a year away, it has helped it feel like we aren't spending a crap ton of money on one thing. The things we buy here and there, honestly haven't even been adding to the budget because they are things we can use afterwards or got at the Goodwill.
