My mother came to see me in November for wedding dress shopping. We were eating lunch and she pulled out of her bag a little ceramic floral box. She handed it to me and told me my grandfather wanted me to have it. My grandfather said my grandmother wanted me to have them. I opened the box and there was this string of pearls.
What really gets me, my grandfather is an 84-year-old man with dementia and my grandmother passed away almost two years ago. My grandfather cannot remember his caregiver's name, but he remembered that she wanted me to have those pearls. I'm not a crier, but it definitely got me. I'll be wearing them at the wedding for sure.
