My handwriting: good enough for envelopes?

Or should I look into printing labels or printing the addresses directly on the envelopes?

I actually like my handwriting- I mean I'm no calligrapher but it's legible and I think it's kinda pretty. And I figure not too many people will care about how their address looks when they receive our invitations.

But if my handwriting is too sloppy/hard to read/informal for wedding invitations, I figured WW would be a good place to get unbiased opinions.

Thanks!

I printed the addresses directly on the envelopes. I was pleased with the way they turned out. My hand writing is a cross between print and cursive and can be difficult to read if I am in a hurry.

It really doesn't matter. Whatever is easiest for you to do, do it!

Well.. now I going to make a mental note of printing addresses on cards! I HATE writing a lot and getting those hand cramps!

Print on the envelope! Who cares about envelope etiquette. I'd rather get a nice printed and legible invitation, rather than a scribbled an illegible invitation. Kinda sets the tone!

Does it matter? Do people pay attention to that or the date to show up

I hand-wrote all of our invites based on people truly do not care about the little stuff and plus I am not paying extra for calligraphy for address. It was a struggle to get 163 invites down but I did it and just waiting until June 28th to send those babies out

Your writing looks fine but address labels would make it easier on you and I think worth it

Clear Avery Address labels! I thought about hand writing them too and I like my hand writing. However, after writing out 10 I think it will start going down hill. I have 225 to send out. I used the clear Avery address stickers for our STD and they worked out great. I made an account with them online, typed out all my labels and was able to save my work. Now for the shower and wedding I'll be all set.

You're totally fine! It just needs to get to the recipient. I'm handwriting mine. Yeah, it just ends up in the trash.

I'm handwriting mine because we had some problems with the printed labels on our save the dates (side bar: please ladies, for the love of good, STOP CALLING THEM STDS. It's actually kind of embarrassing). Wee had at least two that weren't delivered, and I've never had a problem when I have added envelopes. We're also only inviting 100 people and most are multi person households, so we're sending 48 invites. Easy to hand address for me. I think your handwriting is lovely, perfectly fine for addressing your invites.

Order a lettermate. Write with pencil then go over it with sharpie. Mine came out great! Keep in mind to only do a few per night, it gets to be a lot to handle after about 10 per day!

My handwriting is on par with yours. I'm handwriting mine, since I personally like getting handwritten anything nowadays!

I'm ordering about twice as many envelopes as needed, though, since I know I'll mess shit up.

I hand wrote on the envelopes. I was very hesitant at first but some guests told me prior to me giving them the imvites that once they open the invites they're trashing the envelopes, so to me I felt it saved money just to write it myself.

I dont have the best hand-writing and I didnt care. The envelopes were delivered to the people attending my wedding and that was all that mattered to me, so you're fine!

I think you have nice handwriting! No one will care if it's not calligraphy. My mom and MIL volunteered to address them for me because my handwriting is so shitty. Otherwise, I probably would have done clear labels. But I have the handwriting of a middle school boy.

Yelp mine is worse so I opted for printed labels from Office Depot.

I used Envelopemate ($5 on Amazon) to stay in a straight line, but I don't really care about my actual handwriting as long as the post office can read it!

I know no one cares, but it's for my own sanity that I use my Cricut to make the envelopes look pretty lol! If you're really concerned about how they look then I would print the address on the envelopes Smiley smile
